Dr. James Shaw, the oldest of four children, Robert Jr., Shawn, and Minister Deirdre, was born to Robert Shaw Shaw Sr. and the late Pastor Virginia A. Shaw on May 17, 1963, in Newark, NJ. He attended McKinley Elementary School. His family was members of the Original Glorious Church of God in Christ in Jesus. Around the age of 8 years old, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He has always been an active participant in the church. Singer, guitarist, keyboardist, organist and choir director.

He attended Arts High School in Newark NJ. Upon completion of his high school education, he attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology and studied Architectural and Structural Engineering. In service to the church, he served as a deacon for over 10 years and then was called to the ministry to preach the gospel. After serving over 15 years as a minister, he was elevated to the office of an Elder.

 

In July 2021, the late Overseer Virginia A. Shaw was lead of the Lord to install Elder James Shaw as the Pastor of Shiloh Temple. In June 2022 he received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from ABG Ministries Alliance & Seminary.

He serves as the Senior Pastor of Shiloh Temple Church of God in Christ Jesus. In his current tenure as Senior Pastor, some of his accomplishments include the establishment of an effective Outreach Ministry Team which provides ministerial services for multiple Rehabilitation Centers, Senior Citizens Facilities in Newark and East Orange NJ. He has also developed one of the most renowned Community Food Pantry Distribution Services in the City of Newark NJ with the help of church members, volunteers and partners which feeds 1000s of people within the local community on a monthly basis.

 

Dr. James Shaw is dedicated to the Lord's Church, family, Preaching & Teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His professions include being a Business Consultant and Licensed Life Insurance Producer. He is also an entrepreneur and currently is the owner of Innovative Business Services, Innovative Travel Services, Bus Company and DJ Auto Group LLC. He is the loving husband of First Lady Denise Shaw and they have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
